Context: The factors outside the media that shape its meaning


Design: To plan and make something for a specific purpose

Ex. Thumb Nails

Documentation: Recording and/or copying all or part of a piece of media

Ex. Photographs

Ex. Written documentation


Functionality: A thing's usefulness, or how well it does the job its ment to do

Ex. An arrangement of furniture makes it hard to move around a room, making it unfunctional


Identity: Who a person is based on things like beliefs that distinguish and identify a person


Portfolio: A curated collection of work, such as art

Ex. A tattoo artist keeps a binder with their past tattoos and drawings to show employers and clients the artist's work


Professional Practice: The established behaviours, ethics, and standards that guide individuals in a specific profession to ensure competence, accountability, and integrity


Publication: The preparation and issuing of a book, journal, piece of music, or other work for public sale

Ex. Publishing your book through a publication company


Research: The systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources 


Visibility:

1. the state of being able to see or be seen

2. A person's work getting attention from the public increases their visibility
