Selling Venus shows photos of exotic dancers getting ready before work. The normal girl is turning into a performer. This work sheds light on the women placed on the outskirts of society. The women in the Crazy Horse dance club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the women in this profession. These images contrast the public with the private, the part of the world in which exotic dancers live. Women are put on display in the public eye but placed on the outskirts of society, treated as less than those deemed normal.
