Mutu is a Kenyan American artist who works across many media, including painting, film, sculpture, and performance. Mutu splits her time between her studios in Nairobi, Kenya, and Brooklyn, New York. Her work uses the female body to question self-image, gender, cultural trauma, environmental destruction, and beauty and power.
